London’s 1908 Olympic Games saw Great Britain emerge victorious on the medal table, claiming over 50 golds across the competition. One man who contributed to this achievement was William Dod, champion archer and the inspiration behind the Limited Edition Hand Assembled Swan & Edgar Dod Speed Target Mechanical Quartz Hybrid in Silver Blue men’s watch. An ancestor of Sir Anthony Dod of Edge, knighted by Henry V at Agincourt, archery was his destiny, and this destiny was fulfilled representing his nation.
It is powered by the Mecha Quartz Movement that symbolises the intricate precision demanded of Olympian archers. The admiral-blue dial is detailed with concentric circles, mimicking a target, and enhanced with Minutes, Second, Hour and Date counters. The rotating bezel, luminous indices, and hands add further intrigue while the tachymeter allows you to measure speed based on time and distance travelled.
The silver IP case and matching silver bracelet represents the lineage of Dod, traceable back to the 15th century. The Swan & Edgar logo-engraved stainless steel caseback completes the piece and highlights the everlasting intoxication of British pride.
