Product Description

From the Musha Kotoku series comes this intricately hand forged Katana with the crest of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Featuring a full tang 1045 high carbon steel blade, this resilient katana is sharp right out of the box.

Toyotomi Hideyoshi was a daimyō, warrior, general, and samurai during the Sengoku period of 16th century Japan. He succeeded Oda Nobunaga and brought an end to the warring lords period. Hideyoshi is famous for a number of legacies, including the restriction that only samurai could carry sword.

A unique feature of this sword is the integrated Bo-Hi on the blade. Bo-Hi is commonly known as blood grooves, but that is a misconception. The purpose of the Bo-Hi is to help reduce the weight of the katana, which enables the user to wield the katana more smoothly, and puts less stress on the hands— perfect for advance cutting techniques that require the katana to change direction rapidly.

All Musha swords are able to be fully disassembled. The Maru Gata style Tusba, Fuchi, Kashira all can be swapped out for a different set. The real wood handle is wrapped with traditional cotton.
