Parthian Kingdom, ancient Persia. A wonderful silver drachm of Mithradates II, 121-91 BC, Ekbatana mint. Depicts the bust of the king facing left, with long beard and wearing pellet-ended torque and tiara with ear flap and robe / Archer Arsakes wearing bashlyk and cloak seated right on throne, holding bow; Greek inscription around. ref: Sellwood 27.1; Shore 85; Sunrise 293 for type. Coin diameter 20mm, with great gray cabinet tone and stunning detail. Encapsulated and graded Choice Extremely Fine by NGC. Archival slab measures 3.125" x 2.125" x 0.125".
