WWII Era German Beer Token // For Octoberfest!
Product Description
Germany, circa WWII. Brass beer token, with a 'Bierstern' (beer star) or 'Brauerstern' (brewer's star). Large B within six-pointed star, all within dotted border / Mug of beer with foamy head and handle to right, within dotted border. damaged VF, Token has two incomplete but deep nail-point punched hole-starts at the top and bottom points of the star; lightly toned. These were popular throughout Europe, particularly Southern Germany. Here the hexagram being the symbol for the tapping of beer and sign of the Brewer's Guild. Of course we also know this symbol as the Jewish Star of David.
