Holy Land Oil Bottle // 1st century BC - 1st century AD
Product Description
Holy Land. Roman period, c. 1st century BC - 1st century AD. Nice terracotta unguentarium, the type commonly used as an oil vessel for oil lamp oil. Simple form with with ovoid body, a long cylindrical neck and wide, flat rim. Traces of original black paint at the top of the neck. Nicely preserved, with earthen and mineral deposits, age cracks on the body.
