Product Description
Ancient Greece, late 5th to 4th Century BC. A rare painted pottery lebes gamikos, decorated with olive sprigs. A form of Greek pottery primarily used in marriage ceremonies, literally translating to “marriage vase”. It was likely used in the ritual sprinkling of the bride with water before her wedding.
